Squid Coconut Roast



This is a dry version of squid. I have already shared a version of squid masala in my blog. This is yet another recipe of squid which conquered my dining table.This is a simple version of squid with mild flavours. You can increase or decrease the spice as per your taste.

Ingredients

Squids-  500 gms cleaned and chopped
Coconut- 2 tbspn chopped
Onions- 1 large chopped
Tomato- 1 small chopped
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp 
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp+ 1/2 tsp 
Corriander powder- 1 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
Salt- as per taste
Coconut oil- 3 tbspn
Water- 1 cup

Method:-
1. Clean and chop squids in circles
2. Cook it with water, salt and turmeric powder. It will take around 5-7 minutes. Drain excess water.
3. In a kadai, saute onions and tomatoes well,
4. Add in chilli powder, turmeric powder and corriander powder. Saute well
5. Add in cooked squid and mix well.
6. Add in pepper and garam masala
7.Add in coconut pieces and drizzle coconut oil. Toss well and roast till it turns brown,
8. Serve hot

Clean and chop the squid 

Cut it in circles 

Put it in  kadai 

Add in water 

Season with salt 

Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 

Mix well and cook for 7 minutes 


Squid is cooked now...



Heat oil in a kadai and saute onions  

Add in ginger garlic paste  

Add in chopped tomato 

 Add in spice powders  

 Saute well 

Add in cooked squid 

Toss well 

Add in pepper powder and garam masala 

Add in salt if necessary  

Add in chopped coconut  

 Drizzle coconut oil and toss well.. Roast till it turns brown in colour

Serve hot
