Marble cake





This is one of the most versatile cake recipes that has never failed for me. I make this quite often especially when we are out for a vacation or when I had cousins around. It is pretty easy to make and also it doesn't have the frizzy icing. I was thinking about posting this in blog and it was in my to-do list. Last weekend, I made it and clicked snaps. Obviously, the post comes a bit late. And please bear with me for the clarity of pics. Here goes the recipe.....

Ingredients
All purpose flour- 1 1/2 cups
Sugar- 1 1/4 cup powdered
Cocoa powder- 2 tbspn
Butter- 100gms
Eggs- 2 nos
Milk- 1/2 cup
Vanilla extract- 2 tsp
Baking powder- 2 tsp
Baking soda- 1 tsp

Method

1. Prepare the cake tin and set aside. Preheat oven to 180 degree celsius
2. Take butter in a large bowl and beat it gently. Add in powdered sugar and beat till fluffy.
3. Crack open eggs and beat one by one
4. Add in vanilla extract and mix well
5. Add half of the flour mix and beat well.
6. Add in the second half and also add milk. Final mix and batter is ready.
7. Now divide the batter into two. Add in cocoa powder to one half and mix with a spatula
8. Now take the cake tin and pour a laddle of vanilla mix and then a laddle of cocoa mix. Repeat the process until batter is finished.
9. Take a fork or a tooth pick and gently scroll inbetween to get the marble effect
10. Bake for 30- 35 minutes. Allow it to cool completely and slice it to piecesn enjoy.

Now towards step wise illustrations...

First let's prepare the cake tin.... Take your cake tin 

Add butter

Spread it well 

Dust some flour 

Pat well 

Dust off excess flour and keep it aside 

Now take flour in a bowl 

Add in baking soda 

Add in baking powder 

Now mix it well using a spoon 

Move it to a sifter 

Sieve it well 

Now add in butter in a bowl 

Beat it well 

Add in sugar 

Beat it up 

Add in an egg 

Beat it up well 

Now crack open other egg 

Beat it up well 

Add in vanila 

Mix it up 

 Now add half of flour mix

Beat it up and add the second half 

Add in milk as well  

Beat it fluffy and stiff peaks 

Divide the batter in two 

Add cocoa powder in one bowl 

Mix it up well 

Now pour one ladle of vanila mix 

Like wise one ladle of cocoa mix 

Repeat the process till batter is over 


Now take a pricker. You can use knife or tooth pick 

Scroll it up 

Till you get a marble effect 

Tada done!!!

Now its all baked 
 Slice it up 
 A CLOSE LOOK!!!!!

So soft and fluffy !!!!!
