Fish Pickle




I love pickles a lot. My mom makes different types of pickles at home. However, I have stayed away from pickles because I thought it would be a tedious task. But I badly wanted to pist puckle recipes in my blig and so I approached my mom. She was ready and told me I will only supervise you have to make it.. We made fish pickle and it came out realky really well... It is pretty easy to make and I am sure I will be pisting many more pickle recipes soon in my blog... So now lets move for the recipe

Ingredients
Fish-(white fleshed fish cut into cubes)1 cup
Ginger- 1 small cut into thin slices
Garlic- 1 pod
Green chillies- 2 thinly slit
Red chilli powder- 4 tbspn
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Fenugreek powder- 1 tsp
Vinegar- 1/4 cup
Oil- 1/4 cup for frying
Curry leaves- 1 spring
Salt- as per taste

Now towards the recipe...

1. Marinate fish with chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt
2. Heat oil in an earthen pot and fry the fish pieces
3. In the same oil saute ginger, garlic and chillies..
4. Add in curry leaves and mix up well
5. Add in fried fish pieces and mix well
6. Add in chilli powder and fenugreek powder. Mix well
7. Add in vinegar and mix well
8. Once cooled completely, store in a bottle
9. It will stay good for 2 weeks in room temperature or you can refrigerate it.

Now towards step wise illustrations

Take fish pieces in a bowl

Add in red chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt.

Marinate well. Keep aside for 15 minutes

Heat oil in an earthen pot

Fry the marinated fish and keep aside(forgot to take pics)

In the same oil add ginger, garlic and green chillies and saute

Add in curry leaves

Add in red chilli powder and fenugreek powder

Now add in vinegar

Bring it to boil and add the fried fish pieces

Mix it up well and switch off the flame

Fish pickle is ready. Once cooled completely, bottle it
