Mutton Peralan


This was my instant recipe for lunch. Once my hubby needs to rush for a meeting and all I made was rice and mambazha pulissery. I had some mutton in hand and less time. I planned to prepare this recipe. It was all an experiment. Everything was just perfect except it turned bit spicy. Next time when I tried it, it came out perfect!!!! So here I share the recipe with you....

Ingredients

Mutton- 250 gms cut into cubes
Onion- 1 chopped 
Green chillies- 2 slit
Red chilli powder- 2 tbspn
Corriander powder- 2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Pepper powder- 1 tsp
Salt- as per needed
Water- 1/4 cup
Oil- 1 tsp
Curry leaves- 1 spring

Here we begin.......
1. Take mutton in a pressure cooker. Marinate with some chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Cook for 4 whistles
2.  Heat oil in a pan and saute onions well.
3. Add in green chillies.
4. Add cooked mutton pieces along with the remaining water and give s good mix
5. Add in spice powders and bring to boil.
6. Add garam masala and mix well and let the excess water evaporate... 
7. Add on a teaspoon of coconut oil (optional) and serve hot 

Now towards step wise illustrations

1. Take mutton pieces in a pressure cooker

 Marinate with 1 tsp chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt

Cook for 4 whistles

Mutton is completely cooked

Heat oil in a kadai and saute onions well

Add in green chilli slits and some curry leaves

Add in ginger garlic paste

Add in cooked mutton pieces along with remaining water

Add in spice powders

Bring it to boil and allow excess water to evaporate

Add in coconut oil (only if you like)

Serve hot... I served with chapathis and mushroom masala (recipe shared)
