Chicken Coconut Roast- Nadan Style
This is yet another wonderful recipe which is prepared in a traditional manner. I got this recipe from my aunt. She cooks it often and I am a total fan of this recipe ever since I tasted it. Every time when I buy chicken, I ought to make this and post in my blog, unfortunately it has been delayed.However this time I was determined to try this out and this time finally it happened...
It has a good amount of coconut and whole spices which gives this a unique taste and flavour. So here I share with you the recipe....

Ingredients
Chicken- 250gms
Onions- 1 medium chopped
Chilli powder- 3 tbspn
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Salt- as per taste
Coconut- 1 cup
Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
Cinnamon stick- 2 nos
Pepper corns- 1 tsp
Cardamom- 4 nos
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
Green chillies- 1 slit
Oil- 2 tbspn
Curry leaves- 1 tbspn
Corriander leaves- to garnish
Here we go...
1. Marinate chicken pieces with all spice powders and salt and set aside for 30 minutes
2. Heat oil in a pan add saute whole spices and curry leaves for 1 minute
3. Add in onions and green chilli and saute well.
4. Add in chicken pieces and mix well. Close it with a lid and cook well.
5. Chicken will leach out more water and gets cooked well. It will take around 15 minutes
6. Once it gets cooked well, add in grated coconut and mix well.
7. Add in a dash of coconut oil(optional) and garnish with corriander leaves and serve hot........
Now towards step wise illustrations...
Take chicken pieces in a bowl
Add in chilli powder
3. Add in turmeric powder
Add in salt
Add in garam masala
Marinate well and keep aside for 30 minutes
Heat oil and add whole spices(fennel seeds, cardamom, pepper corns and cinnamon stick)
Add in curry leaves
Add in onions
Add in green chilli
Add in ginger garlic paste
Saute for a while
Add in marinated chicken pieces
Mix it up well
Close it with a lid and cook in low flame
It will leach out more water and gets cooked
Once it is cooked well, add in grated coconut
Mix it up well and add a dash of coconut oil (forgot to take pics)
Garnish with corriander leaves and serve hot
