Paneer Butter Masala
We make chapati often. Say daily!!! I always love to try out variety recipe that goes well with that. Paneer was not my favourite till I tasted it from a restaurant nearby. Since then it is my personal favourite and ofcourse, family favourite too. I make this often at home and then it came to my mind that I haven't yet shared the recipe till now.. So immediately I gathered up all ingredients and made for dinner tonight.. Here I share the recipe with you......
Ingredients
Paneer- 1 cup cubed
Onion- 1 medium pureed
Tomatoes- 1 cup pureed
Ginger garlic
Red chilli powder- 2 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Green chillies- 1 slit
Cashews- 8-10 nos soaked in water
Milk- 1/4 cup
Water- 1/4 cup
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
Salt- as per taste
Sugar- a pinch
Kasuri methi leaves- 1 tsp
Cream-colored 1 tbspn
Here we begin..
1. Puree tomatoes,onions and cashews( detailed in pictures below)
2. Hear butter in a pan and saute with onion paste and green chillies
3. Add in pureed tomatoes and ginger garlic paste
4. Saute well till oil seperates
5. Add red chilli powder and cook till raw smell goes
6. Add in cashew paste and garam masala
7. Add in milk and water as per the consistency you need for your gravy.
8. Season with salt and mix well
9. Add in cubed paneer and mix well. Cover and cook for 7 minutes in low flame
10. Add in kasuri methi leaves and cream( I used Amul Fresh Cream)
11. Switch off the flame. Add in a dollop of butter and garnish with kasuri methi leaves. Serve hot with your favourite roti or rice
Now towards step wise illustrations...
Boil some water in a saucepan
Take tomatoes and make a cut in the bottom
Put it in the water and boil for 3 minutes
Skin will peel out easily
Cut it randomly and move to a blender
Puree it
Soak some cashews in water
Take onions in a blender and puree it( forgot to take pics)
Heat butter in a pan
Add in onions and ginger garlic paste
Add in green chillies
Add in pureed tomatoes
Cook till raw smell goes
Add in red chilli powder
Mix well
Add in cashew paste
Add in garam masala
Cook till oil seperates
Add in milk
Add in water
Prepare paneer cubes
Add cubed paneer pieces on to the gravy
Mix it well
Add in kasuri methi leaves
Add in fresh cream
Add in a dollop of butter
Curry ready!!!
Paneer Butter Masala is ready to serve
Serve hot with roti
